Connor Consulting is owned and operated by me, Mike Connor (pictured above).

I provide on site and remote service.  I come to your home or place of business for things that require "hands on" work, or I can connect to your network remotely (this has to be pre-configured and agreed upon) and literally do everything but physically touch something.  Whether you are in town or across the country, I can more than likely help you.

On the note of remote service, I can provide a very fast response time (often as soon as you call) as there is no need to travel to your location.  What is needed is a minor amount configuration on your computers & network equipment.  My personal preference is to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) end point at your site (often much cheaper and easier than it sounds) and perform all remote access via VPN to mitigate any security concerns.  Another added benefit: you can easily and securely access your network whether you are in your local coffee shop or out of town.

The typical things I do for clients:

  • Ensure network security (Firewalls / Intrusion Prevention Systems)
  • Ensure data security, i.e., RAID systems and backup strategies that include offsite storgage
  • Make sure everyone one can print
  • Training on topics from every day usage to server and network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Email systems
  • VPN systems, this lets you attach to your office network and access servers and print as if you are actually there
  • Server set up and maintenance
  • Client computer set up and maintenance, i.e., typical desktop / laptop computers
  • Network design, configuration, and troubleshooting for both wired and wireless
  • Monthly maintenance to minimize any chance of trouble
  • Heterogeneous systems, i.e., Macintosh, Windows, and Unix/Linux interoperability.
  • Provide consultation on system architecture and planning
  • Legacy system support, i.e., old equipment & systems
